In February 2010, the total number of passengers handled at Kurumoch Airport increased by 23.5% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
According to
the current data, the total number of passengers travelled through Kurumoch
last February amounted to 87,896 (an increase
of 23.5% over the corresponding month in 2009). There was a notable growth in
passenger traffic on practically all scheduled flights to and from Samara. The
number of air travellers handled at the Airport in February 2010 on scheduled
domestic and international flights increased by 19.3% and 43.2%, respectively.
The most popular destinations among passengers flying from Kurumoch last February were Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Saint Petersburg, Surgut, Prague, and Dushanbe, but also Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh.
The same story applies to cargo traffic. The total volume of mail and cargo (including transit cargo) handled at the Airport in February 2010 rose by 31.5% over the level recorded in the comparable prior year period.
The route network of airlines flying from Samara is expected to be much wider in the summer timetable 2010. Passengers will soon be able to choose among new domestic and international destinations, which will be served directly from Kurumoch Airport.
Such carriers as “UTair”, “S7 Airlines”, “Aeroflot – Russian Airlines”, “Orenburg Airlines”, “Avianova”, “Rossiya” STC showed the most considerable increase in the figures of February 2010. Kurumoch International Airport together with air carries is constantly striving to widen their route network as well as to increase the frequency of flights on the existing destinations.
