China Shows Interest in Samara
The city government of Shenzhen in China shows interest in cooperation with Kurumoch International Airport.
On April 8, as
part of their official visit to the Samara region, the representatives of the
municipal government of Shenzhen City had a working meeting with the management of Kurumoch Airport.
During the meeting, the Airport’s management represented to their Chinese colleagues Kurumoch Airport Reconstruction and Modernisation Project, but also some other innovation projects now being implemented here, including the creation of a new Samara-based airline and the launch of the Maintenance and Repair Center for Foreign Aircraft.
The members of the delegation have also been provided with comprehensive information concerning the condition of the Airport’s current infrastructure, physical characteristics, equipment, but also the existing and expected capacity of the passenger and cargo terminals here at Samara. To further develop business partnership between Samara and Shenzhen City, the parties have also discussed issues regarding the opportunity of establishing passenger and cargo service between these two cities.
Shenzhen, one of the largest and fastest growing cities in China, is located in the southern portion of the Guangdong Province, on the eastern shore of the Pearl River Delta. Neighboring the Pearl River Delta and Hong Kong (located just south of Shenzhen). The current Shenzhen’s population is about 12 million. The area has Special Economic Zone status. Shenzhen is also called a “mecca for tourists” in China.
