The Swiss at Samara
Swiss companies specialising in surface maintenance equipment and aircraft manufacturing show interest in cooperation with Kurumoch International Airport.
A
working meeting was held on March 16 at Samara between Leonid Shvarts, Director General of Kurumoch Airport,
Paul Boschung, President of the Board
Boschung Global AG, Leonid Sinitsyn, President of Inter Sinex AG, and Raimund Sauer,
Regional Sales Director of Pilatus Aircraft Ltd.
During the meeting, the parties discussed opportunities for cooperation in airport special vehicles and equipment supply.
The presidents of the Swiss companies have presented to the Airport’s management their vehicles and equipment for summer and winter maintenance for roads and airports. Today, for the second year in a row, Kurumoch has used a Swiss-made, modern snowmilling machine that is indispensable in winter to keep runways and taxiways free of snow and ice, but also other foreign-made snow removal equipment.
During the meeting, the representatives of the Swiss companies have also introduced to their Russian colleagues a single-engine turboprop aircraft Pilatus PC-12 presently operated all over the world. The aircraft can operate from short fields, grass and unmade runways and is configured in VIP, business passenger and combined passenger / cargo configurations. Kurumoch Airport has enough experience in handling this aircraft type: since 2008, Pilatus PC-12 has been operated for ad-hoc charter missions here at Samara. Besides, on the base of Kurumoch it is now proposed to launch the Maintenance and Repair Centre for Foreign Aircraft, including those made in Switzerland.
